La Paloma alas blancas, the “white-winged dove,” is a familiar sight in the wide-open skies of Tejas. The sound of its wings are melody that echoes across the late summer air - or scares the livin’ hell out of ya when you're walking the field in the dark. Some see it as a test of grit and skill, a challenge for the hunt. For others, it’s a symbol of community and family that comes with getting everyone together enjoying big ol’ cook out. But for most, the paloma alas blancas is a reminder of the great things we share on this land.
